The WHIASU Quality Assuring and Reviewing Health Impact Assessments (HIAs) e-Learning is available on the Learning@Wales site.
This is a free course, which is available to anyone to access. It is aimed at those who are carrying out HIAs, reviewing them or using HIAs as evidence within their work and would like a critical appraisal tool to assess quality. The course is aimed at those working across the wider public health workforce and both health and non-health policy sectors in Wales and beyond including public bodies, Third Sector, communities, commissioners and private citizens.
The course takes around 1 hour to complete and a certificate of completion is available to download on finishing the course.
The course includes sections on:
- Defining quality and why Quality Assurance (QA) is important in the context of HIA?
- What is being Quality Assured/reviewed
- The QA process and considerations – introducing the QA framework
- Practical exercise – to undertake a short review of a HIA
