Muqaddasa joined the WHO CC in September 2023 as Communications Support Officer working across Violence Prevention Unit (VPU) and ACE Hub to support their internal and external communications. Prior to joining PHW, Muqaddasa worked as STEM Outreach Intern at NUSTEM, Northumbria University where she worked primarily in promoting STEM among children in primary school and early years.
With an academic background in biomedical science, Muqaddasa has a professional background in communications working as a journalist in Daily Mirror- Sri Lanka, focussing on issues of social justice, and public health. She was also at Sisterhood Initiative, working with women and girls belonging to minority communities in Sri Lanka in areas of social justice, law reforms and gender-based violence. Outside of work, Muqaddasa likes quiet evenings reading books or watching rom-coms.
