Dr Dyakova is a Consultant in Public Health and International Health Lead at Public Health Wales, deputy director of the World Health Organization (WHO) Collaborating Centre on Investment for Health and Well-being. She is also an Honorary Clinical Research Fellow at the University of Warwick. Mariana has undertaken extensive research, informing policy and practice, in the areas of sustainable investment and finance for health and well-being; health systems and integrated care; cardiovascular risk assessment and prevention; evidence translation and public health communication and the media. Originally from Bulgaria, she has been actively involved in public health capacity building in South Eastern Europe and in a number of European health projects. Dr Dyakova has gained experience and expertise as a public health academic and professional across England and the European Region. She has been working with the WHO Regional Office for Europe, supporting the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, the Health 2020 Strategy, the Regions for Health Network, and the Healthy Cities. Mariana is a member of the European Public Health Association and the European Health Forum Gastein alumni.
