Catherine is a Public Health Researcher in the Specialist Projects Team where she is establishing and managing a population panel to capture the voice of Wales to inform public health policy and practice.
Broadly, Catherine’s research considers how to prevent and protect both vulnerable individuals and whole populations from harm, and to support positive behaviour change to effectively promote and improve health and well-being across the life-course, whilst also considering the policy landscape. She has a special interest in the areas of children and young people, school-based settings and physical activity, but has also worked on topics across the health spectrum including healthy eating, use of technology, gambling, adverse childhood experiences, mental health and well-being, and public engagement.
Catherine completed her PhD in Psychology where she contributed to the development and evaluation of a multi-component healthy eating and physical activity intervention (Super Dynamic Food Dudes) for pre-school children in the school setting. Alongside her postgraduate training, she collaborated with a social enterprise to support the translation of research interventions into practice-delivered programmes.
