Cheryl joined the WHIASU team in September 2024 as a Principal Public Health Practitioner. Her role is to support the implementation of the Health Impact Assessment regulations across Wales, with a specific focus on spatial planning and health.
Before joining PHW, Cheryl worked in the local public health team in Cardiff and Vale University Health Board, leading work on childhood immunisation, older people’s health and healthy planning. She has had a varied career path which began in town planning and ended up in public health, via a social housing provider in between.
Cheryl’s particular passion is about the impact of the environment on our health and wellbeing, and holds Masters in both Public Health and Planning, both from University of the West of England.
Outside of work, Cheryl spends a lot of her time outdoors, cold water swimming, horse riding, and walking her two dogs.
