The annual European Health Forum Gastein brings together public health professionals from all over Europe and beyond. The Forum convenes politicians, decision-makers, representatives of interest groups and experts in the field of public health and healthcare and offers a platform to shape the future of European public health. It is an opportunity to strengthen the case for European action on health matters.

This year’s theme was Health and Sustainable Development: Bold Political Choices for Agenda 2030. The Forum explored what priorities to set in public health to best achieve the United Nation Sustainable Development Goals, and the steps required to develop and achieve sustainable economic and social policies.

As a Young Forum Gastein scholar, Anna Stielke (Programme Support Officer, International Health, Public Health Wales) attended the conference. The scholarship enables young public health professionals to actively take part in the conference, contribute to sessions, attend skills workshops and become part of a European wide network.
